Statement

Luma Therapy is committed to protecting the privacy of an individual’s personal information. The following sets out how we aim to protect the privacy of your personal information, your rights in relation to your personal information managed by us, and the way we collect, use and disclose your personal information. 

 

In handling your personal information, we will comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and with the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act. 

 

We have policies and procedures in place to ensure that: 

  • personal information is managed in an open and transparent way 

  • the privacy of personal information of participants and staff are protected 

  • we collect and handle personal information fairly 

  • personal information we collect is used and disclosed for legally permitted purposes only 

  • we regulate access to and correction of personal information 

  • we maintain the confidentiality of personal information through appropriate storage and security. 

Feedback & Complaints

Feedback and complaints serve as valuable sources of information, affording us the opportunity to learn and enhance our services. We understand that feedback may involve sensitive matters and, in line with the service user's right to privacy and confidentiality, we pledge to treat such information with the utmost respect. Any details pertaining to a complaint will be treated as confidential.

Service users can expect their complaints to be handled fairly and efficiently, and our staff will take measures to ensure that service users continue to feel at ease while accessing services, while seeking outcomes from a complaint.

Our complaints management process is designed to be straightforward and user-friendly, and we are committed to effectively communicating and promoting this process to all service users and community members.

Safeguarding Choice and Control

At Luma Therapy, we are committed to promoting safeguarding principles that respect and uphold the fundamental human rights of choice and control. We firmly believe that safeguarding goes hand in hand with empowering individuals to make their own decisions, express their preferences, and lead self-directed lives.

We are committed to promoting and upholding the rights of choice and control for all NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) participants. We recognise the importance of self-determination and the empowerment of individuals with disabilities to make informed decisions about their lives.
